Who is protecting your pension benefits?

El Dorado County, Division 73 has many dedicated members. Committee chairs are working hard to protect your benefits. If you know any retired teachers encourage them to join CRTA.

Legislation

Many bills that are circulated through committees affect education, healthcare, and/or senior citizens. Read Contact for additional information.

Scholarship

The Scholarship fund offers two $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors in El Dorado County high schools. Mini-Grants of $300 each are awarded to second year teachers who apply, citing how the money will be used to enhance student learning in the classroom. Six Mini-Grants were awarded in 2008-2009.

Membership

Invite your fellow retired teachers to join CRTA. Membership is $3.50 per month ($42 a year). Members receive the local publication, Update and the state publication, Contact. Monthly meetings include luncheons and holiday celebrations. Contact Bonnie Flint for information.

Community Service

Members are encouraged to keep a record of volunteer hours. The deadline for submitting the record is March 1, 2010.
